Above: The Gigamon blog was outdated so it was time for a refresh. In the wireframes below, organizing content is key and making sure that the pages are designed with flexibility in mind.
We have a vendor that developed and maintained our blog. I became a project manager and set the schedules and the workload in a timely manner. I had set up meetings to go over timeline and passed over the mockup. There was some back and forth with design restrictions in wordpress and we managed to work it through with some adjustments. It was a seamless project and I was happy to hear that they said that was the easiest and smoothest project they had ever had and complemented me for managing it well.
Above: The finished design showing imagery and brand colors added bringing life to the page. The page was better organized than the previous design and I had worked with pmm to make sure that all topic categories were well defined.
With limited budget, the goal was to improve a static diagram using only existing cms components, which were limited. I had to get creative instead. Each button tab would correspond to an element in the diagram to the right. I decided to use the same exact image but created 4 versions of it, each with a box in the diagram being highlighted. The result made it appear that the diagram was sort of animated when it's really was not .
Goal: To provide a reference page for our vendors and employees
Behind the scenes:
Being a small design team of 2 our resources were divided between the brand director and This page was long overdue because we had to keep sending brand documents to our vendor which was very time consuming. Then this page was born! I worked with the art director to make sure all the brand guidelines were accurate and checked with the content team to make sure we have given the most helpful content that the vendors needed. As the page took shape, I realized that have flip cards would be an interesting way to display the hex values in the front of the card and as you hover it would flip to reveal the PMS values in the back.
Not only were the vendors happy, but so were other marketers and sales team as well. In the end, we had saved ourselves both time and effort having created this simple reference page.
